He didn't have a mortage and didn't pay lease and he could pay off the student loans. In any case, it wasn't just about increasing financial opportunity.
As a landscape designer, Stravropoulos needed to reconnect with the land. He was additionally longing for living in a famous vehicle and spent late evenings on Craigslist before discovering his 1959 Airstream Silver Bullet.
When Stravropoulos had obtained his bit of history, he took it in a friend's sculpture studio and started its change. Completely renovated the floor and the painting. He made cork flooring and modern track lighting and painted with bright color, to open up the space.
Stravropoulos has done all work with his own hands, and the trailer reflects his love of craftsmanship. The aluminum surfaces are left free in many places. He made custom cabinets from birch plywood.
Stravropoulos shows us the iconic mobile home which is now behind his current home in Berkeley, CA, and talks about the joys of life.
