Sometimes we've got a hole in the wall that needs repairing. There's a simple way, to fix it. Something like this is really common, when a door handle breaking through the plasterboard. The first thing we're going to do is cut out the damaged area from the wall.
To do this, we're going to mark out a nice, square hole. Run a knife around the line, then use your keyhole saw. Cut the hole out, then cut an offcut of plasterboard slightly longer than the size of the hole in the wall. Put a nail through it, just off center, and spread a little compound to the edges of your back block, and fit it in the hole.
Let it dry for at least 24 hours. Now it's time to pop our nail through and fill it with our compound. When there's a fair amount of compound in there, give it at least 24 hours to dry, if not more. Then give it a light sand. In the end apply the final coat, let it dry, then give it a sand. And now we're ready to paint.
