Rob Torcellini bought a 700 dollar greenhouse to produce more vegetables in his garden. Then he took fish to get rid of the mosquitoes. He was previously an aquaponic gardener. Now in his greenhouse he deals not only with vegetables, but also with fish. And the best part is that the fish feces fertilize the garden.
Aquaponics combines aquaculture with the cultivation of plants in water (hydroponics). In other words, instead of using fertilizers, plants are fed by fish feces with nutrients. Since plants do not require soil, aquaponics allow gardeners to produce more food in a smaller space. In addition to vegetables, most aquaponics gardeners breed edible fish. In this video Rob presents the aquaponics greenhouse in his garden.
