Jordan Menzel and his wife paths separated couple of years ago when he sold his Salt Lake City house and looking for a place where he can live. He didn’t want to buy a new home, and didn’t want to spend money to rent, he said. While cycling through the town, beside the road he saw a silver 1976 Airstream trailer. Since Menzel never had this type of vehicle and did not see it from inside, but his future was extremely uncertain, he decided to buy it for $ 4,000.
Menzel spent three months renovating the 40-years old vehicle and replacing outdated devices. Then a friend allowed to Menzel to park on his property. Technically, he moved to a nearby yard, and when he is not at home, he rent out the Airstream for Airbnb for $ 100/night. Menzel, who works in software indusrty, already saved about $ 50,000 on rent.
